Short sentences are the most effective, but repeated short sentences are stultifying. Long sentences can explain more complex ideas. They are more likely to confuse and slow readers down, though. Make sure that you have a catchy title to your article. You want to draw readers in to your article, and the quickest way to attract attention is by having a heading that piques the interest of those who view it. Consider using a question or a statement with your targeted keyword.

Once you have covered that element, your next move should be a convincing call to action that will entice the reader to pursue more information based upon what he or she has already read.

When promoting your online articles, you should view the "most viewed" and "most published" categories of your competitors.
